Welcome

The Anchor Community Initiative Resource Hub is a collection of resources, tools and case studies to help you use data to end youth and young adult homelessness in your community.

Human-Centered Design

The Basics

  • At least two Youth or Young Adults with lived experience are present at every Core and Community Team Meeting and paid for their expertise

  • Your Core Team regularly speaks with YYA to understand their needs for your system, parts of the system they appreciate, and specific parts they would like to improve; conversations may be informal or include interviews or focus groups

  • Your Core Team regularly speaks with staff members to understand their experience working in your system, parts of the system they appreciate, and specific parts they would to improve for themselves or for clients

  • Your Core Team approaches each problem with curiosity, not judgment

Change Ideas

  1. Have a liaison attend leadership meetings and front-line meetings to ensure that flows of communication are happening between both groups.

  2. Front-line meetings include a standing agenda item that solicits input on barriers and new solutions. Share this feedback with the leadership team so that they can help clear the path.

  3. Decisions and problems identified at leadership meetings are shared with front-line staff to keep everyone on the same page and solicit feedback on potential solutions.
